I Heart NY
After going to Paris Fashion Week for the last five years straight, I’m taking a break from the City of Lights for the lights of Manhattan. That’s right, folks, this chica is headed to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week in September! To say I’m excited is an understatement. I’ve been to New York numerous times over the years - for work and for play - but never for Fashion Week. It will be interesting to see...
Springtime at Ladurée
Springtime has officially sprung at Ladurée! I was recently invited to exclusively unveil the new window display for Spring at the Ladurée boutique on Robson in Vancouver. The only free standing Ladurée boutique in Canada (the other location in Vancouver at Holt Renfrew), this destination of delights has been a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike. Despite a very rainy morning, I was very excited to be part of this unveiling. The end result was...
A Chilly Affair
Every time I return to Paris, it’s a short but intense love affair. Ever since my boyfriend left the City of Light in pursuit of love in Vancouver, my travels to France have now become only a yearly occurrence - always timed with the Fall-Winter ready-to-wear shows in March. On the day of my arrival, the rain showers were...
Moon Young Hee FW17 at Paris Fashion Week
Moon Young Hee, well known for her billowy layering and draping on outerwear, continued that approach for FW17. She did, however, emphasized the collection with a cool girl vibe with her frequent use of paisley prints paired with an oversized vest, belt and military boots. That look was a counterpoint to...
Christian Wijnants FW17 at Paris Fashion Week
Christian Wijnants, a Belgian designer, is known for creating rich, colourful graphic collections that have won him numerous awards. His FW17 collection showcased recently in Paris is a perfect example of his work. Loads of prints - in multiple layers coupled with textural elements in both silks, knits and synthetic fabrics offers an immediate contrast to the typically muted winter palette.
Manish Arora AW17 at Paris Fashion Week
I have been a fan of Manish Arora's colorful approach to fashion for several years now and have always been so impressed with his use of color and the intersection of his traditional Indian techniques with the more modern silhouette. Arora, originally from New Delhi, is considered by many in the fashion industry as the John Galliano of India. Take a look at my pictures from his AW17 show in Paris featuring his collection of ready-to-wear and see for yourself...
A Blue Christmas
Not to worry - I’m not feeling blue, loves. I’m just inspired by the beautiful sapphire jewel tones on this bomber jacket paired with a microsuede sleeveless dress - part of Floriane Fosso’s holiday collection.
