Feeling French

As you know, I'm a sucker for anything French, and particularly when it comes to lingerie.  And that includes this brand - Simone Pérèle from Paris. 

Simone Pérèle is a family company; in fact, Simone's grandchildren now run the company so it's three generations of lingerie experts. Simone was a pioneer in the industry; her designs not only allowing her clients to feel beautiful but also comfortable and functional. 

I was fortunate to attend a recent media launch of Simone Pérèle's SS17 collection in Gastown and got to see first hand how absolutely stunning her collections are. As a mom of two, having beautiful lingerie in my closet isn't exactly top of my list. I also had bad experiences previously with other brands and felt like lace just didn't work for me. I had such sensitive skin and it would turn red from the scratchiness of the lace. What I discovered was that quality lace goes a long way and that it can actually be very, very comfortable while also looking sexy.

Simone Pérèle's press team had also flown in their bra fitting expert who emphasized to me that fit and comfort are incredibly important. Once the fit is perfect, the bra should be comfortable - with no redness from the lace! She helped me pick out this stunning lingerie set that I cannot wait to wear! 

The final takeaway from that press event though, was that even as a mom, or as a busy career woman - or both (like me) - we absolutely deserve to take time out and treat ourselves, our bodies once in a while. If we are happy, then we become better and happier moms, partners, sisters and friends. 

So this Christmas, if you're able to find something pretty to gift to yourself, do it. The gift could be Simone Pérèle lingerie or it could simply be the gift of time. Either way, you deserve it.
