Yu. Cindy Yu.

That's a line I'm borrowing from James Bond, purveyor of all things cool.

Like this stunning Omega Speedmaster Chronograph Moonwatch.

I'm big into watches, and into big watches. Most of my timepiece collection at home consist of faces that are at least 38 mm in diameter, if not larger. In fact, this watch I'm wearing is from the Omega mens collection. Part of it is simply loving the fact that a larger watch better complements my wrist than a small one. The other part is purely psychological. I'm a strong woman with a feisty personality, so wearing a small, dainty watch seems inconsistent with who I am.

Like jewellery, the watch you choose to wear says a lot about you. When I recently visited the Omega flagship at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for their press preview, I avoided timepieces adorned with diamonds or other flashy details.

I'm a fairly active person so Omega or not, I tend to choose something that would suit my lifestyle. I'm clumsy and pragmatic - I don't want to always worry about whether banging my watch against the corner of a wall (which always happens) is going to scratch (or worse, crack) the crystal face. I have too many other things happening in my life so it has to take a licking and literally keep on ticking. It's got to look good without looking too flashy (I know, it's Omega but you should see the other styles they have - diamonds galore) and be extremely functional - which is why I love chronographs.

And this particular style that I'm sporting in these photos, with its glorious sapphire blue face, is one where you can wear from morning to evening, from pool to party. Now if only I didn't have to return it. A girl could dream.
