With seemingly no end to Vancouver's chilly weather, there was nothing to do but escape. And so escape to Palm Springs was the plan: to fly 2.5 hours south to a town that seems frozen in time. Other than the cars, I'd imagine that this was what Palm Springs looked like back in the mid-40s. It's a mid-century mecca amidst a landscape of palm trees, desert and wind farms...
