With seemingly no end to Vancouver's chilly weather, there was nothing to do but escape. And so escape to Palm Springs was the plan: to fly 2.5 hours south to a town that seems frozen in time. Other than the cars, I'd imagine that this was what Palm Springs looked like back in the mid-40s. It's a mid-century mecca amidst a landscape of palm trees, desert and wind farms.

Sometimes you just need the sun on your back, and during January, you can get some pretty decent temperatures (think: 23 Celsius) and a blue bird sky. But with sun exposure it also means you need some great sunnies. Chanel, with whom I collaborated with last summer, has launched its Spring-Summer 2017 eyewear pre-collection, and they're so perfect for Palm Springs and evoking Old Hollywood glamour. This collection is made up of two lines of sunnies - one that’s an edgy yet feminine take on the iconic camellia; its white nylon petals blossom around black or pink (pictured) mirrored glass on cat eye frames.  The other is more fun and sporty, with laid back frames in pastel colours, which I'll debut in another post this week. 

I was so excited to be debuting this new pre-collection that’s now exclusively found in Chanel boutiques across Canada. These vivid hues are a perfect and safe way to add color to your wardrobe and play up the summer season - one of warmth and sunshine!
