Floriane Fosso's SS17 preview in her Vancouver showroom

I’m so excited, it’s been months of planning but it’s finally here!! The Floriane Fosso SS17 preview begins this week with select members of the media, buyers and a very exclusive VIP event over the weekend to introduce her brand to the Vancouver market. We’re keeping things very low key while Floriane slowly assesses the city and its market.

Floriane, who cut her teeth at Chanel and Michael Kors, is only several seasons into her new lines - “From Paris To” - a more accessible and fun collection that’s heavily influenced by her travels, and “Floriane Fosso Studio” - her signature line made with the most luxurious, up cycled designer fabrics. This is eco-fashion at its best. Both collections are made in France. 

The collaboration between The Vancouverite and Floriane Fosso was born out of Paris Fashion Week back in March, when she reached out to me to meet up at her atelier and we hit it off immediately. While I think eco-fashion is the wave of the future - and it’s only getting its feet wet in North America, it’s important to have someone from the Old World truly disrupt the fashion industry. To have a French designer lead this charge - and one so young (she’s only 25) - is what’s really needed. 

And the French have responded. In fact, Floriane is opening up her permanent concept shop in the famed Palais Royale in the 1e arrondissement in Paris, next to famous labels like Acne Studios. 

Tirelessly pushing for reinvention is the true form of creativity. That’s what Floriane has done here with her collections. I can’t wait to share more with you in the coming days!
