It's that time of year.
The scents of summer winding down, clinging on to the ever-shrinking hours of sunlight during the day. The sun is setting earlier now and the evenings are capped with a sustained chill in the air. You can feel it. Every day, the grim thought that fall is here.
But is it grim?
September, they say, is the January of Fashion. Fall brings with it a season of renewal, reinvention and optimism. It's the opportunity for more creative play with an ability to add layers and textures and various applications to materials.
I've always loved Fall. The sweaters, boots, bags, belts and coats. Oh, the coats. I'm always looking out for that statement coat to add to my wardrobe every Fall. While I may not have found it yet, I may have fallen in love with something even better. More on that in a future post.
For this particular shoot, we were so lucky to stumble upon leaves that had already started falling to the ground; crunchy, rich in texture and colour. Of course, keep in mind that we do these shoots weeks ahead of the season and it's not exactly chilly during this shoot. It was 30 degrees Celsius outside that day!! You can't tell but I'm melting. :)
Nonetheless, I loved this look from Holt Renfrew that is so sexy but totally means business at the same time. A super versatile Theory Brizabella embroidered linen crop top in black ($465) is paired with no nonsense, wide-legged trousers from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini ($595), finished with a beautiful pair of Menbur pumps ($175).
I don't need anyone else to feel powerful, but these clothes definitely boosts morale!
