Working 9 to 5
While I love creating content for my blog and doing wonderfully creative things for textile design company, Joue Design, I still need a day job. Like many other bloggers and influencers out there, bills still need to be paid. And in case you haven’t already guessed, I live in one of the most beautiful but expensive cities on the planet.
So in between the writing, collaborating, painting, designing, marketing and general day-to-day operations of running these two companies, I do corporate PR for one of the largest software companies around. I used to have the luxury of traveling around the world for that job but now it’s changed a bit and most of my ‘day job’ travel takes me to the Seattle area.
It’s not something that I mind at all but I certainly do miss my flights to Europe and around the US. Now, I’m mostly spending three hours once a month driving from Vancouver down to Bellevue, Washington, where one of the larger offices sit - and where most of my team is located. I’m so lucky to work with great people, which makes my drive down a pleasant one; one where I look forward to reconnecting with these colleagues again.
Whenever I’m down in the Seattle/Bellevue area, I try to take time out to explore new parts of either city. If you have a favourite place to hang or shop, let me know. I’d love to learn more!
xx,
C.
