Long Weekend

This weekend is the perfect long weekend. July 1st - Canada Day - falls on a Friday and July 4th - Independence Day in the US - falls on a Monday. Residents in both countries tend to take the four-day-weekend, resulting in a very quiet and relaxing time off for North Americans.

To celebrate Canada Day, my boyfriend and I are headed up to wine country - the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. I mean, where better to toast our nation’s birthday than among the vines where some of the best wines in Canada are grown? 

Our friends are flying in from California - land of Napa and Sonoma - so it will be a tall order to impress them. But perhaps they might fall in love with some of the best aromatic whites on the planet? We’ll see!
