Winter is Coming

For some (including me), the title of this blog elicits certain emotions that stem from watching one of the most popular shows on television. 

For others, it is the literal meaning that pulls people into their closets and brings out their thickest sweaters, boots and coats. Hats, gloves, scarves... all to keep us toasty warm until the first light of spring.

While I have my share of sweaters (in gray, of course), coats and boots - I still find opportunity to throw in a little of the unexpected. Like this white lace top from Zaful. Especially on a day when the sun decided to break up the week's usual pattern - and it just so happened to occur on the day of our shoot! What were the chances??

As long as you have a warm coat like this wool one from H&M (which, to be transparent, I've had for years and which I love) you can pretty much carry off anything underneath it. The white lace continues my love for winter white while giving it a bit of elegance and unexpected detail in this season. 

While I love wearing the top over jeans you can easily pair it with a mini skirt to dress it up. Well, a mini skirt with tights. And ankle boots like the ones I'm wearing from Sole Society that I nabbed from Nordstrom. After all, it's still only five degrees outside, people. :-)
