We're only one month away from Christmas Eve.

Do you ever feel anxious that the days are just flying by too quickly? That we're grasping to not only stay on top of everything we have to do but also find some way to enjoy it? I find that the more I take on, whether it's for my day job, my other passion projects or my home life, the faster the hours fly by. And it's nerve wracking.

I try and compartmentalize my life in blocks in my Outlook calendar, just so I can get (nearly) everything I need to get done for that day. Otherwise I'll get sucked into a project and low and behold, it's already 6 pm and I have no idea what we'll have for dinner.

So it comes as no surprise that when I was invited to an evening of wreath making hosted by Robson Street and CB2 in downtown Vancouver, I jumped at the chance. It was an opportunity to completely break away from my everyday routine and get my hands dirty. I love tactile things, especially when the result is something as beautiful as the completed wreath in the picture above! Yes, I made that! Thanks to Lauren Sabo at Botany and Co., who is so gifted and gave the group in attendance super easy step-by-step instructions.

I loved being able to spend time doing something creative while socializing with old friends and new, over wine and snacks supplied by Milestones and The Original Cupcakes. It was just such a wonderful evening that made me forget how much I still have to do before Christmas! Now as I write this I can feel my heart palpitating again! Oh well, at least I have my wreath!
