So I was bored (and thirsty) this past weekend so I decided to goof off in the kitchen with my trusty bar accessories. I'd just made some yummy iced tea using David's Perfect Pitcher (that was a birthday present from a friend) and Pom Tango tea from David's Tea - an exotic, fruit-filled black tea. Seeing that it was a warm summer day and quite frankly, my apartment was getting so stuffy, I decided to turn it into a cocktail using my favorite go-to's at my bar - St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and Bombay Sapphire Gin. Playing around, I added some stuff here and there, some egg white to make it nice and frothy as well as lemon juice for a more sour effect. I decided against using simple syrup as the elderflower liqueur is plenty sweet. Anyways, it turned out pretty decent and thought I would share it with you! Enjoy!

The Vancouverite's Elderflower Gin Summer Tea

Ingredients

1 cup Pom Tango Iced Tea (or any fruit-based iced tea, prepared through infusion and not a powdered package please!)
1 egg white
30 mL lemon juice
30 mL St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
30 mL Bombay Sapphire Gin
3 squirts of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
15 mL Makers Mark Whisky (optional - if you want it boozier)

Directions

Fill a Boston shaker with ice and 1 egg white. Shake the egg white until frothy and foamy. Add all remaining ingredients and shake thoroughly. Pour drink through a strainer into an ice-filled old fashioned glass. Top with a couple more squirts of bitters. Garnish with a mint or raspberry.
