What to Pack: Destination - Napa Valley
Flight and car booked? Check!
List of wineries to visit? Check!
Outfits selected? Umm…
Packing for a trip to Napa Valley can be fun and shouldn’t be too stressful. Just north of San Francisco, Napa Valley has a relatively mild climate year round. It can get quite warm in the summer (north of 80 degrees Fahrenheit) and cool in the winter (hovering around 42 degrees). And the southern part of Napa Valley can be quite cooler than its northern region.
What you'll notice is that the temperature in Napa tends to fluctuate a fair amount during the day so layering is key. In the summer, a jumpsuit or maxi dress will do, topped with a cardigan and paired with a hat. The winter, however, commands a heavier wardrobe: think sweaters and ripped skinny jeans with a boot, hat and scarf.
If you want to change up your wardrobe to wear something au courant from the stiletto department, keep in mind that most wine tasting is done standing at the bar so wear something you'll be comfortable in, like wedges, ballet flats or sandals.
I'm currently in San Francisco but this weekend I'm headed up to Napa for a food and wine event. Here's one of my favourite combos to help inspire you for your next trip to the wine region!
