Sip & Savour Benefit (Pictures)
Last night, Vancouver's finest gathered together at the Sip & Savour Benefit to raise money for BC Womens' Hospital Newborn ICU. It's an incredible, worth cause that brings to light the urgent need for more advanced equipment for newborns (such as advanced incubators, cardio-respiratory monitors, specialized transport incubators, emergency transport equipment to name a few). As I'm also a mother who delivered both my beautiful children at Womens where the staff took such good care of our family, this cause is personal for me too. Please go to the Newborn ICU website to learn more and donate to this worth cause.
Numpfer, Sebba Stone and host Tamara Taggart presented a fabulous event, bringing together some of the best restaurants and cocktail experts in the city under a gorgeous, glittery room at the Pipe Shop at the Shipyards in North Van. With restos like l'Abbatoir, Hawksworth, Minami, The Acorn, Torafuku, The Mackenzie Room, Fable and Biercraft and cocktail legends from The Keefer Bar, Bao Bei, Prohibition, Tacofino, the legendary Jacob Sweetapple and cocktail king Grant Sceney (Worldclass 2014 Bartender of the Year (Canada) and #4 Bartender in the World), the night was complete. Glitterati bid to their heart's content for numerous silent auction items including a chefs' dinners from the newest star on the block, AnnaLena.
For a fundraiser, this was one of the best ones I've been to in a while. Great food, cocktails, wine (from Haywire and Joie Farm) plus a number of local craft breweries, a stunning space and a fantastic cause are recipes for a fabulous evening. I'm already excited for next year's event.
