PreFall 2015: TSE
German born Tina Lutz, creative director at TSE, has put forth for PreFall, a collection focused on a denim theme. An unusual take for the design house most famous for their luxurious cashmere and knitwear.
Lutz trained in Paris and worked for Issey Miyake, Calvin Klein and Nuala (Christy Turlington's yoga and sportswear line). The latter has certainly helped in maintaining the focus of comfort in her knitwear designs - in particular, organic knitwear and partnering with female artisans in Bolivia, Uruguay and Peru - and ensuring sustainable production. She joined TSE in 2012 where her debut collection launched for FW 2013.
For PreFall 2015, we're seeing a lot of indigo-dyed twill; in fact, that hue - in various shades - forms much of her color palette in this collection, emulating a variety of denim washes. While punchy shades of sienna and camel and silver patches appear to complement the denim hues, the collection remains anchored in knits with her woven vests and cashmere jackets. It's a fresh and growing collection that make us yearn for more from Lutz.
